Hello to you all. Hope you are surviving the winter time chill here in Australia. (If you are reading in the Northern Hemisphere, I hope you are surviving the summer heat ). Here in Victoria the days are getting longer; when I drive home at the end of the working day the sky is still light.
Finishing a UFO

I began this quilt in September 2009 according to my blog. It was nearly finished when I decided I didn't like the way I was quilting it so the project got put on the shelf. Last week I decided that even if I wasn't completely happy with it, someone else would like the result. Only took twenty minutes to finish the machine quilting, then I turned the backing to the top and topstitched the edge. I was done in less than two hours. I gave the quilt to the local ABC radio station for the Winter Blanket Appeal, and a UFO is finished!
I Spy Patterns
How do you make your favourite I Spy quilt? I'm collecting as many patterns as I can find that would work well with I Spy fabrics. I made some samples for my May market stall, you can see them here on my blog. If you have a favourite pattern I'd love to hear from you.
I Spy #18

The latest charm square collection I Spy #18 is now on the website. I made a sample top from all 12 charms in the set and added 45cm of dark green and 55cm of light green.
I cut 4 charm squares in half and sashed them with 2.5 inch strips of dark green. I chose the small print designs for these blocks. The other 8 charms were sashed with 2.5 inch strips of light green. The offset squares means there are very few corners to match <G>.
If I add one more row of charms and a wide border it would make a great kid's quilt.
New on Two Bits Patches
I Spy #18 is $8 and joins sets # 14, 15 and 17; as well as Cats, Butterflies and Australiana. There are new fat quarters and still plenty of Matilda's Own batting.
Hope to see you soon!
Cheers, Sharon
